October 18, 2019 | Women Artists on the Leading Edge: Celebrating Douglass College at 100
This exhibition also celebrates the forthcoming publication “Women Artists on the Leading Edge: Visual Arts at Douglass College” by Rutgers Distinguished Professor Emerita Joan Marter, who was both a faculty member in these heady days and witness to the feminist revolution in the arts Douglass College was founded in 1918 as the New Jersey College for Women. Inspired by Black Mountain College’s innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum, and courses in avant-garde, the faculty and students at Douglass College created a center for avant-garde art that embraced Fluxus, Pop, performance, and experimentation. Drawn from the collection of the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers, this exhibition celebrates the achievements of Douglass’s alumnae and faculty, among them Alice Aycock, Joan Snyder, Mimi Smith, Bonnie Lucas, and Joan Semmel. MUSEUM HOURS: T-F, 10am- 4:30pm. Sat-Sun, Noon-5pm. 1st Tues of most months, 10am-9pm. The museum is closed Mondays, major holidays, and the month of August. FREE Admission. The Zimmerli Art Museum hosts a panel discussion and book signing on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

THE 5TH DIMENSION The legendary group, The 5th Dimension continues to awe sold out audiences with their amazing harmonies, immaculate showmanship, and exciting energy. With over 20 million records sold worldwide, 22 TOP 40 Hits, five No.1 hits and six Grammy’s, they’re truly accomplished. Their classic songs include: Up, Up, and Away, One Less Bell to Answer, Last Night I Didn’t Get to Sleep At All, Wedding Bell Blues, Stoned Soul Picnic, and the iconic Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine In. The 5th Dimension has performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, and multiple casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Canada. "Bring Your Circle of Friends, to Meet Our Circle of Friends" Social Parties are...well, lots of fun. Parties allow you to practice your steps and learn to navigate the floor in a social dance settings. Our friendly atmosphere allows you to dance and mingle with people of similar interests. They also encourage you to keep fit naturally and have a healthy social life by making new friends. Our Socials are well attended, 70-80 people, singles and couples. There is a complimentary dance lesson from 8pm - 9pm by certified, professional teachers. We will rotate during the class, so you can meet everyone. There are several of our professional instructions will be assisting you during Social Dancing! Snacks and Refreshments will be served. B.Y.O.B.
